“It was then that I picked up a pencil for the first time, with the aim of replicating the beauty I had seen on the television screen. In almost every boring school lesson, I spent a lot of time drawing Transformers in my notebooks.”

Egor Shirinsky

In my country, these cartoons were shown between 1990 and 1992, when I was just 5 years old.

This incredible story and universe impressed me so much and fired my imagination that I could sit in front of the TV for hours, waiting for new episodes. I tried to record every episode on videotape so that I could watch them again and again with my friends.

It still seems to me that you can't imagine a more ideal universe for a boy. After all, all boys love cool cars and robots, and at the same time, everyone wants to be an astronaut in their childhood. Personally, that's exactly what happened to me. Of course, all these dreams came true in my imagination, thanks to watching these cartoons over and over again.

In high school, I became aware of the works of the surrealists, and the focus of my creativity shifted to bizarre forms and meanings. A parallel passion for psychology led me to attempt to depict, in some drawings, the connection between man and the universe. And, at least for myself, to understand and answer the question: why we were created and what our destiny is.

I think it is obligatory and fair to point out that I have never painted professionally. It was always at the level of a hobby; I didn’t study it specifically. And even when it was time to pursue higher education, I chose the economics department at the city university.

But in my second year of university, a CD with the Adobe Photoshop program fell into my hands, and from that moment on, graphic editors entered my life as closely as possible. Instead of studying for exams, I could sit in CorelDRAW or Photoshop all night, drawing a new wallpaper for my desktop.

After graduating, despite majoring in business, I started working as a designer for a local magazine. My job consisted of drawing different types of advertising banners, designing articles, and editing photos. And this is where I found a new love: artistic photography. I bought a camera for personal use and immersed myself in the study of this amazing art.

Before I joined the NFT space, I changed many jobs. And to be honest, I almost gave up drawing and only occasionally played with photo manipulation and created surreal collages.

The year COVID-19 was announced, there was a lot less work, and I had more time to dedicate specifically to my creativity. I had accumulated a lot of material that I simply had nowhere to publish. And at the end of 2021, I discovered the world of NFTs.

Yes, perhaps many people now know me as an illustrator who creates vector graphics with Adobe Illustrator. But I came into the NFT space as a collage artist, and the first works I minted on the blockchain were outright surreal scenes using old photographs and photographs of outer space.

At some point, I realized that I didn’t want to use someone else’s material, even if it had a public domain license. After all, they weren't my photos. I never had a technique that would allow me to perfectly photograph a galaxy several hundred light-years away. So I decided to go in a different direction and turn to vector graphics.

I am really grateful to the collectors who supported me in the beginning. And I’m sure that even though I no longer work in the style of collage art, my works are still an excellent decoration for their collection.

What attracts me to vector graphics is the possibility of creating minimalist works, and here I can draw something that can hardly be photographed. In principle, the philosophy of minimalism is very close to my heart. Incidentally, it perfectly complements my value: traveling.

Yes, I love traveling so much, discovering new countries, cultures, and people. As a rule, you don’t take anything extra with you when you travel. As in minimalism.

Ah, traveling, this spirit of adventure simply intoxicates me, so my works mainly have to do with traveling and unusual places for me. And that's why I didn't think twice when I received an invitation to Roadside Lake World. I am very excited and grateful for it. And of course, I appreciate it so much.

Finally, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to give this interview because writing the story of my creative journey has released many beautiful childhood memories. I wish everyone who reads this article a great day, love, and success in their endeavors.
